The Voter Education and Research Fund (VERF) was established to support cutting-edge research into the political behavior of California citizens and voters.

VERF seeks to explore and develop new strategies for communicating effectively with California’s rapidly changing electorate to foster and expand citizen participation in the political process.

In particular, VERF is focused on understanding the successful recruitment, retention and participation of absentee voters in California – an increasingly crucial segment of the electorate, both statewide and in legislative seats.
